Privacy

This is everything anon.to stores. Nothing else is kept, and no access logs are kept for anon.to.

What is stored

  • Short links. Each link's destination and hash, when it was made, and, when a signed-in user made it, the account that owns it. A link made by a guest has no owner. A removed link keeps only its hash, owner and times.
  • Accounts. Your name, email address and a hash of your password, with any two-factor setting or passkey you add. The session that keeps you signed in holds no IP address or browser details.
  • Reports. The link reported, the comment, and the reporter's email address when one is given.
  • Rate-limit counters. To limit how fast links are made and opened, a counter is kept for each IP address, or for each account when a signed-in user makes links. IP addresses are hashed before they are stored, and counters expire within an hour.

What is not stored

No record of a single redirect: not the destination, the time, the referrer, the IP address or the browser. Opening a short link or a direct redirect sets no cookie and starts no session.

Access logs

No access logs are kept for anon.to.

Cookies and sessions

Visitors of the site's own pages, for forms and sign-in, get a session that holds no IP address or browser details.
